Monsoon Trek Diary- Ambassador Himalaya Treks & Expedition

Image
We three from our company and one of our foreign Guest-friend - planned a short Monsoon Trek with overnight stay. Before finalizing the destination, on June 7, the four of us did a bike ride and short hike to Bhunadol, Farping to explore the area. Honestly, the place didn’t match our expectations, but reaching there made us realize how popular and meaningful it is for domestic tourists – a perfect spot for outdoor fun and connecting with nature. Seeing Nepali brothers and sisters enjoying the green hills and fresh air brought immense joy to us – especially as tourism professionals and teachers. We noticed various groups – some students, some couples, some hikers, and even monastery kids – all happily blending with Mother Nature. But along with this joy, came a serious thought – Are we disciplined visitors? Loud music on speakers while hiking, throwing wrappers, bottles, and other waste along the trails – is this how we experience nature? Anyway, we didn’t feel like staying down at the...

YahurVed Patha at Gunadhara

Image
I was aware of the YajurVed and Hom rituals in a historical sense, but getting the chance to experience it first-hand was something special. We hosted this event on May 17, 2025, at our home in Gunadhara, Kavre, fulfilling my Buwa's dream. He managed to gather the Kunwar family from Chaubas, Okhre, Pokhari, Thulo Khoriya, Kodka, & Kavre - over 60 of us gathered together. Now, I'm a student of culture & tourism, not so much of the Karm-Kanda, so while I understand the philosophy, the rituals themselves were new to me. It was exciting to learn about the Rudri, Yajurved verse & Hom in real-time. My Buwa's efforts to unite our Watsa Gotri Kunwar family from the region paid off. It was like a family reunion on a spiritual level with the added richness of inviting five priests - four from Sindhupalchok and one who regularly blesses our Puja. For our family, this wasn't just a gathering. It was a chance to explore our roots. My Buwa, [ From my Hajurbuwa, Jijubuwa ...

BTTM 20th Batch Adventure Tourism

Image

Beyond the Reel: Turning Rice Planting into Real Tourism Stories

Image
When we talk about tourism, many people think it’s all about glamorous Industry. In Nepal, we often imagine the beauty of the Himalayas, helicopter tours, luxury hotels, fine dining, wildlife safaris, treks, motorbiking, and cities like Kathmandu or Pokhara. Social media like ‘Instagram and TikTok’ adds to this image with eye-catching reels and polished content. Yes, this is tourism but today, we need to focus more on meaningful or experiential tourism. This kind of tourism isn’t about luxury or show. It’s about real, grounded experiences connecting with people, culture, emotions, and stories. Take the month of Asar, for example. Instead of just selling scenic tours, we should promote rice planting experiences. This takes visitors to rural villages, where they learn about local lifestyles and listen to real family stories. This kind of journey shows the true face of Nepal. When travelers return home, they take back memories filled with joy, challenges, people who touched their hearts,...

Tea time & Storytelling with the Honorable Minister of MoCTCA

Image
29 May 2025 Morning 08:50 to 09:20 at Basantapur Durbar Square 🇳🇵, On the occasion of 72th International Sagarmatha Day. After the event ended, the Honourable Minister expressed his wish to enjoy a cup of tea. So, he and his team headed to the famous youth hangout, Mama's Tea Point at Basantapur. He was joined by the Joint Secretary of MoCTCA, along with representatives from NTB, NMA, TAAN, NTTA, NATHM’s ED Ma’am, and a few tourism entrepreneurs -including me. (Luckily, we happened to be there!) Theme: Tea & Storytelling with the Honourable Minister of MoCTCA, Mr. Badri Prasad Panday, and storyteller Sunil Sharma Sir (Officiating Director of NTB) 🇳🇵 This moment was more than just tea and talk - it reflected a paradigm shift in Nepal’s tourism approach. Instead of the usual focus on the Himalayas and Lumbini, the Honourable Minister took interest in local stories, especially the history of Freak Street, once a famous hub for Hippies in the 1960s and 70s. He explored how...
