A Memorable Cultural Journey with Gunma University Students

Yesterday was truly special. I had the privilege of guiding a wonderful group of students from Gunma University, Japan, along with my good friend Anup Adhikari Sir. This beautiful cultural exchange was made possible thanks to the kind coordination of Prem K. Danuwar Sir, and I’m deeply grateful to Puja Dangol Ma’am from Kathmandu University and Pramila Neupane Ma’am from Gunma University for making it happen.

The day began with excitement and curiosity. Our journey was more than just sightseeing - it was about sharing stories, discovering heritage, and building connections. We explored the living traditions of Kathmandu’s Durbar Square and dived deep into Nepal’s rich cultural history.

We walked through centuries-old courtyards, listened to tales of kings and gods, and visited sacred spaces filled with devotion and artistry. From the story of Indra Jatra to the living tradition of the Kumari — the Living Goddess, from the fierce energy of Kal Bhairav to the timeless collections inside the museum, every stop whispered a piece of Nepal’s soul. It felt like we were traveling through time, tracing history all the way from the 2nd and 3rd centuries to today’s vibrant celebrations.

By the afternoon, our feet were tired but our hearts were full. We headed to SuryaMoon Bistro at Jhoche for some snacks, and honestly, I’ve never seen a happier group eating together. We were all so hungry after exploring, and that simple meal became another beautiful memory of the day. There was laughter, conversation, and a genuine sense of connection : moments you can’t plan, only experience.

Days like these remind me why I love what I do. Travel isn’t just about visiting places - it’s about listening to stories, meeting people, and creating bonds that go beyond borders. Watching the students engage, ask questions, and connect with Nepal’s living heritage was truly rewarding.

A heartfelt thank you once again to everyone who made this possible - the students, the teachers, and my dear friend Anup Adhikari Sir. It was an honor to explore, share, and celebrate Nepal’s cultural treasures with you all. Until we meet again, may we continue to discover the world through stories and connections. ЁЯМП❤️
