The Story of My Lost Documents
Today I want to share a personal story - how I lost my important documents and what happened after that.
I still remember it clearly. On 2082/4/8, I was traveling from Teku to Putalisadak by Sayuk Yatayat bus. The bus was crowded, and I was standing. From RNAC stop, 2–3 young boys got on, a bit older than students, and everything seemed fine until Jamal. But by the time we reached Bagbazar, I noticed something strange. They pushed passengers when dropping off, and even at PK College, they did the same. I didn’t realize it then, but when they got off the bus, something was not right.
When I reached Putalisadak, I checked my bag and discovered that my purse was missing. At first, I thought maybe I had left it at home, so I went ahead with my work and visited Abriti Media that day. But later in the evening, when I checked properly at home, I couldn’t find my purse anywhere. That’s when I was sure - it had been stolen.
Inside the purse, I had some very important things:
-
Tourist Guide License (1)
-
Trekking Guide License (1)
-
Blood Donation Card from the Red Cross (I had donated 6 times +)
-
Business cards of Ambassador Himalaya
-
Teacher ID card of NATHM
-
University ID card of NeHCA
-
3 bank ATM cards
-
Cash: Rs. 1500
The next day, on 9th Shrawan, I had a university exam, so I couldn’t do much. I did try submitting an online police application, but I didn’t get any response. A week later, I went to Durbarmarg Police Station, but after explaining everything for almost an hour, they told me I should go to Singhadurbar Police Station instead.
Time kept passing, and after about two weeks, I went to Singhadurbar Police Station with my friend Kedar Ji’s help. We submitted a written application, provided all details, and they told me to come back after one week. When I returned, they gave me a report saying, “Your documents and purse were not found.”
After that, I started searching online about what documents are required to reissue my licenses. I also messaged the Tourism Information Office on Facebook Messenger, and they replied the next day with the list of required documents. But due to my college, office, and other work, the days kept slipping by. Soon it was already mid-Bhadra. Then came the movement (Andolan) and public holidays, and before I knew it, Aswin had arrived.
I’m now planning to go to the Kathmandu Tourism Office with all the documents to apply for my new license. In between all this, I also guided seven Japanese students on a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square, using just my Blue Book as proof. and so on for 2025.
Now, I’m waiting to see what new government rules or procedures will come up. Tomorrow, I’ll finally know what’s next. On 2082.09.29,(13th Jan 2026) I received my new license.
