My Last Day of 2025: From Classroom to Meditation Cave

Image
Today is the last day of 2025, and it has become one of the most memorable days of my year. I woke up early in the morning with many plans in my mind. As planned, I went to college. Surprisingly, there was no teaching duty today. So, I decided to check answer sheets from the mid-term internal exam. While checking, I found something shocking- one student had copied all the questions instead of writing answers! 😱 I was confused and honestly speechless. Teaching is really full of surprises. After that, I went to my office and signed some official documents, then handed them over to Kishore Dai. As a tourism student and professional, this day was even more special because it was the 27th Anniversary of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) . I was invited to the program, so I walked from my office, Ambassador Himalaya Treks and Expedition, to NTB. I arrived there around 10:35 AM, completed the registration, collected my coupon, and began interacting with tourism professionals. Programs like this a...

Beyond Sustainability: What Prakriti Taught Me About Regenerative Tourism

Image
One day, while scrolling through my feed, I came across Prakriti Resort and Organic Farm . Curious, I searched more about it and discovered that they were actively practicing sustainable tourism in Nepal . That immediately caught my attention. During my Master’s studies, my teachers often talked about sustainable tourism - how it should protect nature, support local communities, and create long-term value. But sometimes I asked myself a deeper question: Isn’t this what we are already doing at home? I come from Gunadhara , Kavre, where farming, land care, and community living are part of daily life. Many times, I wondered -  Is this tourism? Is this a business model? And why are we studying something that already exists around us? I had read and learned about many international sustainable tourism practices, but honestly, I had never experienced them closely in Nepal. That’s when Prakriti Resort felt different- real, local, and meaningful. Before this visit, Arun Shrestha Sir ...

Discovering Pashupatinath: Where Life, Death, and Shiva Meet

Image
Imagine a place that's not just a temple, but a living truth , one that hits you square in the face without warning. Welcome to Pashupatinath Temple  in Kathmandu, Nepal, situated in the lush Kathmandu Valley, overlooking the sacred Bagmati River. This isn't your typical tourist spot with photo ops and souvenirs. It's a raw encounter with existence itself, where Lord Shiva , known as Bholenath, the innocent one,   doesn't just reside; he reveals  himself. If you're seeking spirituality beyond rituals, adventure in the profound, or a mirror to your own life, Pashupatinath will shake you to your core. A Temple Beyond Bricks and Bells Pashupatinath defies labels. Here, faith isn't blind ; it's wide-eyed awareness. Feel Shiva in the whispering winds, the river's gentle ripples, the rising smoke from funeral pyres, and a silence louder than chants. Worship? Forget ceremonies. It's a state of being where questions dissolve naturally. Life here isn't a ...

The Rise of Fast-Food Ideas and the Decline of Deep Thinking in Nepal

Image
Today, many of the thinkers, writers, teachers, and idea-makers who once shaped society have lost their influence. The platforms where ideas were created and debated have weakened. In their place, emotional, shallow, and unstable thoughts are growing fast. We are witnessing an overgrowth of what I call cheap thinking . Ideas today appear quickly, spread fast, and disappear just as easily. They have no depth, no roots, and no long-term impact. Fast-Food Ideas, Shallow Minds Philosopher Hannah Arendt described thinking as a slow and lonely process- one that grows through self-reflection and inner struggle. That kind of thinking takes time. Unfortunately, Nepal is slowly losing this ability. In the past, ideas were born in many spaces: Philosophers and intellectuals raised serious questions Political party schools debated ideology University classrooms focused on discussion, not only careers Writers and poets created metaphors for resistance and change Back then, politi...
